After more than three years of successful leadership at Eufaula, Ala.-based American Buildings Co., Ray Napolitan has been promoted to president of the Vulcraft/Verco Group for Nucor Corp. Vulcraft/ Verco has a total of ten plants across the nation, making it the largest producer of steel joists and steel deck in the United States.
“Ray has done a great job of integrating American Buildings into Nucor Corporation while still maintaining the core ABC culture,” states Bob Lowe, president of Nucor Buildings Group. During Napolitan’s tenure as president, ABC made great strides within the industry and internally.
Those accomplishments include the establishment of Nucor’s industry-recognized Safety Training culture, Pay-For-Performance incentive system, and business and leadership training at all levels within the company. Innumerable community service projects were initiated and completed throughout every ABC division.
Replacing Napolitan as President of ABC is Ron Kuenkler. With more than 30 years of experience in the metal building industry. Ron was promoted from within the Nucor family and is focused on continuing Napolitan’s efforts when it comes to taking care of thecustomer and a longterm vision for ABC.
“We have complete confidence that Ron has the industry experience and Nucor knowledge to sustain the momentum Ray created and the phenomenal programs that have been implemented,” said Bob Lowe, president of Nucor Buildings Group. “Ron’s progressive thinking will keep ABC at the top of the industry.”
