Kawneer Co. Inc., an Alcoa business based in Norcross, Ga., plans to relocate and expand its Midwest Service Center. The new location and increased capabilities, an investment in excess of $4 million, will nearly double Kawneer’s presence in the Midwest and will enable the installation of a new flexible fabrication line, resulting in shorter lead times and an expanded product offering for customers across the region. The Chicago-based service center offers stock items, a custom door line, framing systems, welding, fabrication and packing. The move is scheduled to occur in the third quarter of 2011.
