Metal Forms unveils Meta Art (January 2009)

Metal Forms Corp., Milwaukee, has launched a metal sculpture division called Meta Art Sculptures. Master sculptor Larry Oleson uses the manufacturer’s surplus steel in the crafting of Meta Art wildlife sculptures. Each sculpture uses recycled material, is powder coated and utilizes a green dry finishing process. Meta Art sculptures came into existence thanks to the company president’s interest in art, an employee’s uncovered artistic talent and the company’s resources. “I’ve always been interested in replicas of cars, trains, construction equipment and wildlife,” said Tom Miller, president of Metal Forms. “This fascination, along with my involvement in steel fabrication, led to the thought that Metal Forms could produce metal sculptures, specifically replicas of wildlife. When I discovered our then general manager of manufacturing, Larry Oleson, was a talented wood and metal artist, everything fell into place.”
