International design firm Ware Malcomb announced that its chairman, Lawrence R. Armstrong, was named by the Orange County Register to its list of 125 Most Influential People in Orange County in 2024. Compiled annually by the newspaper’s reporters, photographers, editors, and reader nominations, the list features individuals who made a difference throughout the year.

Armstrong is an accomplished architect, artist, business leader, author, and philanthropist who chairs the leadership council for Orange County United Way’s United to End Homelessness initiative. Founded in 1972, Ware Malcomb is an award-winning architecture firm that has consistently designed innovative, sustainable buildings, often featuring metal in the design plan.
“To be named among this collection of individuals is a significant honor,” Armstrong said. “I am grateful to work with talented teams of like-minded volunteers and professionals in the philanthropic community dedicated to eradicating homelessness in Orange County, and our additional philanthropic efforts at Ware Malcomb.”
The Register’s 125 Most Influential People in Orange County had significant influence because many received national – or even international – recognition for something they did, but many others operated outside the spotlight as they did fascinating and impactful things to help people in the county and beyond. The list includes notable leaders in the fields of the arts, politics and government, military, sports, academia, nonprofit, and business.
