Metal composite materials (MCM) featured in Metal Architecture’s October 2019 issue.

3A Composites USA Inc.
3A Composites’ ALUCOBOND PLUS MCM consists of two sheets of smooth, 0.02-inch-thick aluminum thermo-bonded to a solid, fire retardant core in 4-mm nominal thickness. It is available in standard widths of 50 inches and 62 inches. ALUCOBOND PLUS is available in a wide range of finishes and colors, as well as custom colors.

Arconic Architectural Products LLC
Arconic offers its Reynobond MCM in the Concrete series of finishes in the company’s Duragloss DL (Design Line) coating line. Five colors are in the Concrete series: Moon Concrete, Urban Concrete, Washed Concrete, Industrial Concrete and Armored Steel. Reynobond 4-mm FR MCM panels have two, 0.02-inch-thick aluminum sheets bonded to a fire-resistant core. Duragloss DL is a three-coat polymer coating that resists aging, UV damage and corrosion.

Citadel Architectural Products
Citadel’s Envelope 2000 MCM is composed of a prefinished, smooth aluminum face skin, thermoset phenolic resin core and primed, smooth aluminum backer. Four attachment systems are available: reveal (RV), deep-reveal (D-RV), rout and return (RR), and rainscreen (RS). The RV and D-RV are assembled in the field; RR and RS are shop fabricated. The RV is a barrier wall and uses batten or reveal molding profiles. The D-RV is a cavity wall type system with standard 1/2-inch or variable width joints. The RR is a barrier system with joints finished with matching or contrasting color sealant. The RS is a dry-joint system with standard 1/2-inch or variable width joints.

Coated Metals Group (CMG)
CMG’s System 2000 is a pressure-equalized, rear-ventilated rainscreen system with MCM panels. The dry-joint panel system features a joint design that eliminates all exposed fasteners, resulting in clean looking panel joints. The panels are sequentially installed with an extruded aluminum attachment system, and there are no exposed fasteners. System 2000 is tested to meet ASTM E283, ASTM E330, ASTM E331 and AAMA 508.
Mitsubishi Chemical Composites America Inc.
Mitsubishi offers its ALPOLIC QUARTZ-ZINC MCM in new colors: VM Building Solutions USA Inc.’s PIGMENTO blue, PIGMENTO brown, PIGMENTO grey, PIGMENTO orange and PIGMENTO red. With the finishes, QUARTZ-ZINC coil is glazed with mineral color pigments to produce earthy hues while maintaining its natural texture.

Rollfab Metal Products
Rollfab’s Alumakor MCM comes 4-mm or 6-mm thick. It is produced by laminating two sheets (typically aluminum) over a 3-mm- or 5-mm-thick solid core of fire-rated, thermoplastic mineral material, continuously formed. Alumakor MCM is fabricated with an extrusion system without exposed fasteners, and can be used in dry joint or wet seal installation. It comes in multiple coil-coated Kynar 500 PVDF colors, and has a 20-year finish warranty.
