Solar and photovoltaics featured in Metal Architecture’s November 2019 issue.

Merlin Solar Technologies Inc.
Merlin Solar’s model FX36L Solar Panel is a flexible, peel-and-stick panel rated for 165 watts. It has 36 cell modules arranged two cells wide by 18 cells long, which allows it to fit in the pans of 16-inch-wide standing seam roof panels. The solar panel is mono-crystalline silicon and produces about 50 percent more power per square foot than thin-film modules. The FX36L Solar Panel is certified to UL 1703, and available with a black or white background.

MiaSolé Hi-Tech Corp.
MiaSolé’s FLEX-03N module is a copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS)-based, flexible, thin-film, photovoltaic (PV) module that provides high power density. It has more than 16 percent cell efficiency. It is 0.37 meters (14.6 inches) wide, and can be used on standing seam roofs, where modules fit in the spaces between seams. Length ranges from 1,710 millimeters (67.3 inches) to 5,910 millimeters (232.7 inches).

NVent Electric PLC
NVent’s ERICO brand Solar Bonding Lugs bond frames and mounting structures of solar photovoltaic systems in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC). The lugs are UL 467 listed and corrosion resistant. They are also galvanically compatible with copper grounding conductors and the aluminum frames of photovoltaic modules.

Solaria Corp.
Solaria’s PowerXT Solar Panels features the company’s Pure Black panel design that eliminates gaps between solar cells and visible circuitry including busbars. The panels have a 20 percent efficiency rating and shade tolerance that maximizes energy output over time. PowerXT Solar Panels come with a 25-year warranty.

Sunflare Solar Co.
Sunflare Solar LiteMount is a lightweight solar module for metal roofs that weighs less than 1 pound per square foot, installed. The panels have bypass diodes at every cell, which allows them to be less affected by shading. LiteMount is shatterproof and has a wind load of 42 pounds per square foot, and snow load to 33 pounds per square foot. The solar panel is certified by UL and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and comes with a 25-year warranty for product workmanship and power production.
