Addition showcases company’s lighting products in action

The Electronic Theater Control Inc., Middleton, Wis., utilized Fabral’s Select Series 12 concealed-fastener panels in Mica, in addition to color highlights from a variety of 7/8-inch (22-mm) corrugated exposed fastener panels from Lancaster, Pa.-based Fabral at the main entrance.

The 328,000-square-foot (30,471-m2) building provides a practical operations facility where all of ETC’s corporate functions are under one roof, while showcasing ETC’s lighting products in action.

ETC began an expansion project in the summer of 2007 to add some much-needed space to its factory. David Braucht with HDR Architecture, Madison, Wis., designed the expansion, basing it off the design of the original building by Peter Tan, AIA, with Strang Architects Inc., Madison. The 78,000-square-foot (7,246-m2) addition was completed in August 2008.

Focused on keeping the space green, ETC used energy-efficient fluorescent fixtures, as well as light diffusers hanging under eight skylights. The whole facility uses an ETC Unison Paradigm architectural lighting control system. Additionally, 170 trees were planted on the property.

Erdman Development Inc., Madison, was the design builder and general contractor, and Nations Roof North, Waukesha, Wis., installed the metal siding.
