Church expansion with contemporary flair

Church expansion with contemporary flair One of the fastest growing churches on the East Coast, Calvary Revival Church in Norfolk, Va., undertook a massive expansion that allows it to accommodate more than 10,000 people on a typical Sunday morning.

Approximately 16,000 square feet (1,486 m2) of Citadel Envelope 2000 rout and return system panels in Silver Metallic, Matte Black and custom Princely Purple, from Citadel Architectural Products Inc., Indianapolis, were used to highlight entrances and symbolic entryway design features.

Specialists in religious facilities, Barnes Design Group, Virginia Beach, Va., was the architect. The project was designed with a contemporary flair using “materials of permanence” to reflect the church’s ministry.

The general contractor was E.T. Gresham Co. Inc., Norfolk, and the panel installer was Composite Wall Systems, Virginia Beach.
