The ornate design of the new Lin’s Asian Buffet in Oklahoma City relies heavily on complex radius theming elements from Flex-Ability Concepts, Oklahoma City. The project utilized approximately 1,200 feet (366 m) of Flex-C Trac and Flex-C Arch for the elaborate arches and circular ceilings that are a trademark interior look for the Texas-based chain of restaurants. The Flex-C Trac was also used to frame the curved exterior roof edges that helped create a pagoda-like appearance.
“It’s the only type of framing system that works on a job like this,” said Jim McMillan, project manager at Lubbock, Texas-based Minnix Commercial Construction, the general contractor. “The crew laid out arcs and circles on the floor and then used a laser to shoot the work points straight up. Whenever a client needs a curve or radius, it’s the product to use.”
Consolidated Architecture and Planning Services Inc., Houston, was the architect, and Oklahoma Building Supply, Oklahoma City, was the distributor.
