Dynamic shopping and retail experience

The Elizabeth Arden flagship store in New York City underwent an intense renovation. The 1,000-square-foot (93-m2) space incorporates progressive architecture, cutting-edge technology and pristine craftsmanship creating a dynamic shopping and retail experience.

Crystal Clear Starfire Glass from Empire Architectural Metal & Glass, College Point, N.Y., flank the dramatically oversized Elizabeth Arden Red Door. Unfolding from the entry is a 14-foot-
(4-m-) high red lacquered wall curving like a ribbon through the store. The sleek and shiny contemporary steel wall creates pockets of space for displays and beauty stations. A backlit glass display wall opposite the red ribbon wall brightens the store with constantly changing visual displays. Milgo/Bufkin, Brooklyn, N.Y., manufactured the metal panels for the red ribbon wall. A luminous ceiling above the red wall, along with soft multidirectional lighting around the beauty stations, enhance the flow of space and add compelling accents. A shimmering crystal chandelier towering over a glowing circular skincare table is at the end of the store.

Highland Associates, New York City, was the architect, and Lehr Construction, New York City, was the general contractor.
