Retail owner relies on metal buildings

Retail owner Larry Patterson says he’s never built with anything but metal for his retail centers. “The metal buildings we’ve built for our retail locations have withstood hurricanes and anything else Mother Nature throws at them,” Patterson said. “And they are simply more economical than the standard construction so we choose metal buildings every time.”

Memphis, Tenn.-based Liberty Building Systems was contracted to provide a metal building solution for Patterson’s retail location in Humbolt, Tenn. Liberty provided the post and beam framing, purlins, gutters, downspouts and mechanical roof curbs for the 15,825-squarefoot (1,470-m2) building that features eight subdivided retail spaces. To create an aesthetically pleasing look, the general contractor, Lashlee- Rich Inc., Humboldt, chose EIFS for the exterior of the building. Peters Architecture, Charlotte, N.C., designed the plans for the metal building.
