Scottsdale Community College Fitness Center, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Scottsdale Community College Fitness CenterAlthough cost was a major reason behind the decision to use a metal building system for the new fitness center, the facility’s appearance is enhanced through the treatment of the framing system as an architectural element. The 26,500-square-foot structure’s reverse haunch CB-4 framing system was manufactured by Varco Pruden Buildings. The building is 195 feet long by 138 feet wide with 30-foot eaves. Varco Pruden also supplied the horizontally oriented ribbed panels, vertically installed flush panels and the SSR standing-seam metal roof panels.
