Aluminum in several colored finishes was used in a renovation project at St. Lawrence Martyr Church. The 19,000-square-foot project included renovating structural components its ornate interior. The design intent for a reredos, which is an ornamental screen covering the wall at the back of the altar, was to incorporate metals that would react to light and glow.
GES Sheet Metal Inc. fabricated 400 square feet of Pure + FreeForm’s 1-mm-thick finished aluminum into wall panels and installed them. The aluminum is in three finishes: Deco Bronze, Deco Bronze 2 and Gold Tarnish. Panel width and length varies.
