Store utilizes cost-efficient metal building

Houston-based Metallic Building Co. provided the metal building, roof and walls for the locally owned Flooring America specialty store, Paracca Interiors in Valencia, Pa. The 8,400-square-foot (780-m2) building was completed in September 2008 and features a pre-engineered gable symmetrical metal building system with 26-gauge PBA wall panels on the endwalls and sidewalls and a 24-gauge Metallic Ultra-Dek Galvalume roof.

A metal building system was chosen for its cost efficiency and quick turnaround time. The PBA wall panels and trim are finished in Kynar Signature 300 Brownstone. The same finish is used on the front and back sidewalls with a 1-foot (3-m) projected canopy with PBR soffit panels. The left endwall has a purlin extension, 30-foot- (9-m-) wide, 3-foot (1-m) projection and a self-supporting parapet wall. The interior of the retail store used 150 feet (46 m) of 29-gauge PBU liner panel in Kynar Signature 200 Polar White. The 70- by 120-foot (21- by 37-m) building has a 20-foot (6-m) eave height and 1/2:12 roof slope.

The architect was 4-Most Group Inc. Architects, Butler, Pa.; the general contractor was Gabriel Enterprises, Saxonburg, Pa.; and the roofi ng contractor and erector was J & E Contracting, Columbiana, Ohio.
