Cladding Safety in Light of Global Fires

A panel of experts discussed differences between North American building code and buildings caught in catastrophic global fire events. Particular focus was given to FPA 285 and how it promotes the International Building Code’s goal of Life and Safety.

This webinar’s purpose was to build trust and understanding of value in the NFPA 285 Multi-Story Fire test for the overall fire performance of a wall assembly in the real world. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) was all about safety and no threat to life, and the NFPA 285 tests the construction wall assembly containing combustible materials.

Panelists:

Dan Martin, Fire Protection Engineer, Jensen Hughes
Andy Williams, PE, Director of Codes and Standards, Metal Construction Association (MCA)
Nick Scheib, VP of Sales and Marketing, 3A Composites USA
Jeff Henry, CEO, CEI Materials
Tom Seitz, Executive Director, MCM Alliance

Brought to you by the Metal Construction Association MCM Alliance and METALCON. For more information, go to www.metalconstruction.org or www.metalcon.com
