AIA Contract Documents Launch Several New Services

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) today launched its Contract Documents Education Portal, aia.org/docucation, a comprehensive, user-friendly web site that offers contractors, builders, and architects high-quality Contract Documents-related education programs and materials in one convenient online location. Users of the new site can access live training webinars, podcasts, and on-demand courses, some eligible for continuing education credit, as well as an extensive library of written resources such as comparisons of old and new AIA Contract Documents and commentaries to better understand key terms and clauses of AIA Contract Documents.

to overwhelming market demand created by the sustainable design movement, the American Institute of Architects launched five new cutting edge documents to meet the growing needs of the construction industry in this important area. Following up on its popular
Guide for Sustainable Projects introduced in 2011, the AIA’s Sustainable Projects (SP) documents apportion the new roles, responsibilities, and risks inherent in sustainable design and construction projects to the party in the best position to address them. Additionally, the AIA today released an updated scope of services document for LEED Certification. All are available through AIA Contract Documents software and online through AIA Contract Documents-on-Demand.
