Star Building Systems, Oklahoma City, has promoted two long-term employees.
David Alexander has recently been appointed to the position of vice president and general manager. In his new role Alexander will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day Star activities and performance. Alexander joined Star Building Systems in 1989 as a computer programmer after receiving his degree in Computer Science and Management. He was instrumental in the development of the Star Builder System, Star’s proprietary estimating and pricing software available exclusively to Star Builders. In 2001, Alexander was promoted to director of customer service where he has helped transform this department into a model of efficiency and effectiveness.
Gene Bell, P.E., has recently been appointed vice president of operations. This promotion recognizes Bell’s ongoing contributions to the company, his oversight of the estimating function and his skillful management of production control. Bell’s analytical ability and customer skills have allowed the company to meet customer needs while at the same time keeping manufacturing facilities properly loaded. Bell joined Star in 1973 after receiving his degree in Civil Engineering. He is a professional engineer and has been registered in numerous states.
