The Industrial Perforators Association has launched a campaign to educate designers, engineers and architects on the many vital attributes of these materials. The new “Add some punch to your design” initiative also aims to increase awareness of the IPA and its ability to serve as a resource on perforated materials.
Perforated materials play an important role in a wide range of products and places-particularly in managing liquids, gases and sound through filtration, ventilation, diffusion, sorting and containment. In addition to these functions, perforated materials are a proven method to cover, enclose, divide and decorate exterior and interior spaces. Perforated materials are a strong alternative to both wire cloth and expanded metal.
“Even with so many uses in today’s world, there is still room to grow into new applications,” said Robert Farber, IPA president and president of Quality Perforating Inc. “We’re looking to change that with the launch of our ‘Add some punch to your design’ campaign. We need to better inform the design and engineering community of the benefits of incorporating perforated materials into new and existing applications.”
