Gerard “Gerry” Schmidt, 59, of Henderson, Colo., was born on Oct. 24, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Schmidt was a loving husband to Vicki; son of Joseph T. Schmidt and the late, Alma Schmidt; brother of Gene, George and the late, Geraldine Trippel. Schmidt battled against Myelodysplastic Syndrome and Mastocytosis for over a year. He worked as a project manager for Black Roofing, Boulder, Colo., for seven years, and before that he was with D&D Roofing, Commerce City, Colo., for 25 years. Memorial Contributions or donations can be made in his memory at www.mds-foundation.org, or to the charity of your choice. Private family services will be held at a later date.
