Dobson Sheet Metal & Roofing of Mobile, Ala., Copper Construction Co. Inc. of Vidalia, Ga., and D.H. Slater & Son Inc., Chico, Calif., were recently awarded American Buildings Co.’s Excellence in Design Awards. ABC’s Excellence in Design Awards recognizes builders and roofers for their innovation and distinction in design. D.H. Slater & Son received the 2010 Building of the Year Award for Chico-based Mooney Farms. Dobson Sheet Metal and Roofing received the 2010 Roof of the Year Award and was also named the Excellence in Design winner in a second Roofing category. These honors were awarded for the construction of Colony at the Grand in Fairhope, Ala. Copper Construction Co. received an ABC Excellence in Design Award in the category of Roof Retrofit for Barracks Upgrade Project Building #25425 in Fort Gordon, Ga. The construction company was also awarded second runner up for the Roof of the Year for the same project. The Excellence in Design Awards competition is open to all authorized ABC Builders and Architectural Metal Systems Roofers. Winners are selected by an independent panel of judges.
