MarinoWARE, South Plainfield, N.J., announced that its new drywall-framing ViperStud product has been accepted by the New York City Department of Buildings. The wall assembly designs met the required fire-resistance ratings. In addition, the system has received the Intertek/ Warnock-Hersey safety and testing mark.
The ViperStud system is composed of non-load bearing wall studs available in two design thicknesses, 0.0155- and 0.0245-inch (0.39- and 0.62-mm), and a single track, called Viper- Track, with a design thickness of 0.0155-inch that is compatible with either stud. ViperStud products are also compatible with conventional steel drywall framing products and are 100 percent fl at steel. Unique features include a ribbed fl ange and web, 100 percent hemmed ViperTrack, improved screw retention and the single-thickness ViperTrack.
“The ViperStud System offers a better product to end users while outperforming conventional products in limiting heights,” said CEO Chip Gardner. “This product installs the same as conventional products, so the trades can enjoy the benefi ts without a learning curve. ViperStud is becoming the preferred drywall framing stud for contractors.”
