The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) published an 18-page folio for architecture students, professors, and others about the design and construction of Austin FC soccer club’s St. David’s Performance Center in Austin, Texas.
“Architecture faculty and students learn about metal building systems and how to create amazing design solutions through our folio series,” says Tony Bouquot, MBMA’s general manager. “Each folio dissects the design priorities, goals, and outcomes for a single facility. The newest one delves into the unique structure that houses the training center for Austin FC and the club’s youth academy.”
MBMA created the St. David’s Performance Center folio in coordination with Gensler and Harvey | Harvey-Cleary. It includes:
- Interviews with the architect, metal building manufacturer and construction team.
- Project design insights involving the five metal buildings erected side-by-side, open design plan, clerestories for natural light and more.
- Photos, drawings, and graphics that illustrate phases/elements of the design and construction.
