Partnering with Bright House Networks, the Orlando, Fla.-based University of Central Florida constructed a $47 million football stadium as an intercollegiate athletics complex on the north end of the east campus. The 45,000-seat, 1,089,000-square-foot (101,168-m2)
Brighthouse Networks Stadium includes a convocation center, field house, sports center, additional athletic fields, student housing and retail space, including restaurants and shops. Originally, the UCF football team, the Knights, played miles away from campus at the Florida Citrus Bowl stadium near downtown Orlando. The new home of the Knights is on campus, allowing fans and students easier access to the university sporting events.
Moon Township, Pa.-based CENTRIA supplied 28,493 square feet (2,647 m2) of 22-gauge Profile Series IW-13A in Pewter with a smooth Sundance AM coating for the project. The metal panels provide a clean, unbroken appearance, creating a unique textures appearance, which adds to the aesthetic value of the new facility. The IW Series panels are Cradle to Cradle Silver certified.
360 Architecture, Kansas City, Mo., was the architect; Cladding Systems, Tampa, Fla., was the dealer and installer; Wharton Smith Inc., Sanford, Fla., was the contractor.
