Skylights create dramatic look for clubhouse

The Conservatory Clubhouse at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla., was completed in October 2007 and features a variety of skylights from Super Sky Products Inc., Mequon, Wis. The skylights feature 8,400 square feet (780 m2) of 9/16- inch (14-mm) laminated glass consisting of ArcticBlue reflective with a 0.09-inch (2-mm) SentryGlas Plus PVB from Viracon Inc., Owatonna, Minn. The skylights also feature a 70 percent PVDF Bone White finish from Linetec, Wausau, Wis.

The project included two pyramid skylights with vertical portions, each measuring 22 by 22 feet (7 by 7 m); one custom skylight with vertical portions measuring 43 1/3 by 43 1/3 by 20 7/12 feet (13 by 13 by 6 m); one ridge skylight with vertical portions measuring 22 feet by 41 feet (12.5 m) by 6 1/2 feet (2 m); and one ridge skylight with vertical portions measuring 22 feet by 30 feet (9 m).

 

All skylights were manufactured to be large missile hurricane compliant and both tubular and I-beam rafters were utilized in the construction.

Marsh & Associates, Englewood, Colo., was the architect, and BE&K Building Group Inc., Maitland, Fla., was the general contractor.
