Metal Panels Provide Old Style Look

The 12,000-square-foot (1,115-m2) Chapel Hill Fellowship Church in Wichita, Kan., features 15,000 square feet (1,394 m2) of MBCI Craftsman Series panels, which include a separate pan and batten panel system. The large batten standing-seam feature of the Craftsman panels, from MBCI, Houston, matched the steep roof slope the church wanted to exhibit the “old style” church design. The base metal used was 24-gauge Galvalume Plus, an unpainted panel, which accented the rustic look of the “church on the hill” concept that was desired.

The general contractor on the project was Hutton Construction, Wichita, and the installer was Sheet Metal Inc., Clearwater, Kan. The architect was Howard & Helmer Architects, Wichita.
