Tyler Kavanaugh has been promoted to associate at Spokane-based ALSC Architects PS and named president of the American Institute of Architects Spokane chapter for 2027, reports Dylan Harris.
Kavanaugh, 29, is one of the leaders of ALSC’s K-12 market sector, primarily working with districts across Eastern Washington designing spaces for students that spark curiosity, promote engagement, and foster belonging.
She joined ALSC in 2020 after graduating from the University of Southern California School of Architecture.
Kavanaugh hopes to learn more about K-12 design, understanding how physical spaces can affect students’ development.
In addition to her role as president-elect at AIA Spokane, Kavanaugh is the Eastern Washington representative for the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, which allows her to work with emerging professionals seeking licensure.
Kavanaugh hopes to pilot a mentorship program in the coming year, giving young professionals with zero to four years in the industry the opportunity to work with architects with 10-plus years of experience.
