Two producers are teaming up to tackle a green steel initiative aimed at decarbonizing the construction sector and promoting sustainability in building materials.

Hydnum Steel, based in Puertollano, Spain, which supplies green steel to the Iberian Peninsula and Southern Europe, will supply Kingspan with green steel to help reduce the embodied carbon of building materials as part of the company’s Planet Passionate initiative. The two companies will also collaborate on creating efficient logistics and circular economy solutions with ferrous scrap, as part of its commitment to the environment and natural resource preservation.

As one of the largest global carbon emitters, the construction industry continues to face pressure to adopt solutions that reduce emissions without sacrificing performance or durability. In this context, green steel is becoming a key material for achieving decarbonization goals and advancing sustainable, energy-efficient building practices.
