Serving 500 students in grades K-5, the interior design for the new Centennial Elementary School in Edmond, Okla., relies heavily on extensive curves, radiuses and light coves to provide a friendly, contemporary atmosphere.
To frame the project, approximately 4,000 linear feet of 3 5/8-inch, 20-gauge Flex-C Trac from Oklahoma City-based Flex-Ability Concepts.
The framing was done by Cleaver Drywall and Acoustics, Edmond, Okla. “We’ve used Flex-C Trac for virtually all radius work ever since it was introduced,” said Clifford Cleaver. “It’s much easier to work with than the old way of framing curves. You save half the amount of installation time. It sure was a big help on this job where the curves were so prominent.”
The architect was The Stacy Group, Owasso, Okla.; the general contractor was Gail Armstrong Construction Inc., Norman, Okla.; and the distributor was Building Specialties, Oklahoma City.
