Complementing a championship design

The Champion Hills Country Club is part of anew community in
Victor, N.Y. The community includes the club, which features a state-of-the-art golf course and clubhouse, and The Fairways, a residential development.

The clubhouse, designed by Barkstrom & LaCroix Architects, Rochester, N.Y., features a dining room, member lounge, golf shop, fitness center, pool and other amenities. The building is a workout and relaxation stop for members, but it also is used for company meetings, weddings and additional events.

This clubhouse is topped with a Dutch Seam standing-seam metal roof
(MRD150) from ATAS International Inc., Allentown, Pa. About 7,600square feet (706 m2) of panels were installed. The 0.032-aluminum panels have a Patina Green finish with Kynar 500 or Hylar 5000.

“As you pull up to the circle drive at the clubhouse, you can’t help but to notice the ATAS standing-seam roof,” said Jim Bush, vice president of sales for ATAS. “Barkstrom & LaCroix did an outstanding job designing the clubhouse, and the Patina Green roof complements every aspect of that design.”

The contractor was Bayford Construction Inc., Spencerport, N.Y. The golf course was designed by Barry Jordan of Manlius, N.Y.-based Jordan Golf Design, who has received much recognition and acclaim for his work. The Champion Hills Country Club said of the design: “Jordan Golf Design believes that a golf course that exhibits sound design principles, compositional beauty and thrilling golf is the product of an architect’s ability to arrange its features and forms in both an artistic and functional manner. This requires specific design philosophy, as well as technical competency, to achieve.”

The culmination of the competency of Jordan Golf Design and Barkstrom & LaCroix Architects is Champion Hills Country Club. An inviting clubhouse, a member retreat and an award-winning golf course.
