Condominiums transform metropolitan area

The luxury condominium project, 10-50 Jackson, is helping to transform Long Island City, N.Y., into one of the most exciting new locations of urban life in the New York City metropolitan area. Located at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Vernon Boulevard, the 20-story building was designed by Gene Kaufman Architects, New York City. Known for its use of distinctive and innovative exterior materials, the architectural firm selected Omega-Lite ACM panels from Laminators Inc., Hatfield, Pa.

The exterior cladding consists of 42,000 square feet (3,902 m2) of Omega-Lite ACM panels in Bright Silver and Sierra Tan. The panels were installed using Laminators’ patented Clip & Caulk installation system, allowing the installers to fabricate the panels on-site without the need for shop fabrication. The builder and developer for the project was Vantage Partners, a joint effort of Emmy Building Co. and The Lions Group, Long Island City. A-Porcel Trading Co., Bronx, N.Y., supplied the panels.
