Hilton Garden Inn NYC Financial Center/Manhattan Downtown, New York City

The 29-story Hilton Garden Inn NYC Financial Center/Manhattan Downtown hotel has 107,000 square feet of floor space. To maximize the floor and area ratio and the number of guest rooms, Gene Kaufman Architect PC’s design incorporates two features. First, the building envelope is thin. Attached to metal studs, metal composite material (MCM) and a rainscreen attachment system are 1 1/2 inches thick. Second, the building cantilevers over another building on the north side at the 10th floor. This increased the number of guest rooms at upper floors.

Allied Specialty Group Inc. fabricated, and CAVA Construction and Development Inc. installed, two colors of Arconic Architectural Products LLC’s Reynobond MCM and Allied Specialty Group’s Estolga 3000 Rainscreen Attachment System. The project utilized 58,350 square feet of 4-mm Reynobond MCM with a fire-resistant core in Satin Frost and 5,650 square feet in Konig Blue. The rainscreen attachment system has full-length attachments and a double-return locking feature that ensures panel joints align horizontally and vertically from the bottom of the building to the top.

Hilton Garden Inn NYC Financial Center/Manhattan Downtown hotel is located in New York City’s Financial District. Some guest rooms have views to South Ferry Terminal, Battery Park and New York Harbor. The MCM cost was $1,145,504 and the project was completed in January 2018.
