Metal Building Is Largest Basketball Facility in Kansas

The new 54,397-square-foot (5,053-m2) Farha Sport Center at the Greater Wichita YMCA is the largest basketball facility of its kind in Kansas, accommodating eight regulation-sized basketball courts. Completed in August 2007, the building features a continuous beam framing system. Additional framing used on the project was CB-1 with a clear span of 120 feet (37 m).

 

The standing-seam roof is Galvalume, and the wall color is Kynar Snowdrift White. The metal framing, roof and walls were by VP Buildings, Memphis, Tenn. Evans Building Co., Wichita, was the contractor on the project, and Schaeffer, Johnson, Cox, Frey, Wichita, was the architect.
