Metal Building Used for State-of-the-art Fitness Center

The new state-of-the-art Mountain Island Fitness in Charlotte, N.C., features a full-size basketball court; locker rooms; and cardio, spin and group exercise rooms. The 29,920-square-foot (2,780-m2) building is a rigid frame metal building from American Buildings Co., Eufaula, Ala. A Loc Seam 360 Galvanized architectural standing-seam metal roof system in Pearl Gray with 70 percent PVDF resin coating supplied as Kynar 500 or Hylar 500 by BASF, Florham Park, N. J., was also used. Pinnacle Architecture, Matthews, N.C., was the architect on the project, and Matthews Construction Co. Inc., Conover, N.C., was the general contractor.
