Northwest Independent School District’s Aquatic Center, Fort Worth, Texas

Reflective, aqua-toned metal tiles look like ripples of pool water on an accent wall at the front façade of Northwest Independent School District’s Aquatic Center. The blue panels are also a backdrop for the building’s signage.

On the accent wall, Heritage One Roofing Inc. installed three profiles of Petersen Aluminum Corp.’s 26-gauge steel PAC-CLAD Precision Series Flat Tiles in Bright Blue.

Also, at the front entrance, sidewalls and backside of the building, Heritage One installed Petersen’s 22-gauge Highline S1 panels in Cityscape. For soffits, Heritage One installed Petersen’s 22-gauge Flush panels in Cityscape.

The 80,000-square-foot Aquatic Center encloses a 50-meter competition pool, 25-yard practice pool, weight training and sports medicine spaces, and seating for 850 people.

Dwayne Maynard, project manager at Heritage One, says supply chain disruptions added pressure to the construction schedule. “We worked a lot of overtime; we were working seven days a week and 10 hours a day for most of it. The extra effort paid off, though, with a satisfied client. They love it; it looks nice and it turned out good.”
