To replace and expand the roof on Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH) designed a copper standing seam roof. The 8,500-square-foot roof is between 75 feet and 100 feet above the stage floor. To prevent melting snow and ice from sliding off the sloped metal roof, SEH specified a snow retention system.
The site was challenging to maneuver equipment and material during construction due to long lines of stairs, curvy rocks and limited staging areas. A crane hoisted roofing materials over a wall and around a mountain.
On-site, Superior Roofing Inc. fabricated and installed Aurubis AG’s standing seam roof system in Nordic Brown Copper. Superior Roofing also installed three of S-5!’s metal roof attachments: the aluminum, twopipe Dual Gard snow retention system, DualBrackets and S-5-U Mini clamps.
