Replaceable roofing rights veterans' residence

Designers of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs selected Perth Amboy, N.J.-based Englert Inc.'s Series 3000T standing seam profile, a mechanically seamed, snap lock panel with a seam cap, to replace a shingled roof on the Veterans Memorial Home, Paramus, N.J., built in 1986.

Arch Concept Construction, Haledon, N.J., installed more than 117,000 square feet of 16-inch wide, 24-gauge medium bronze panel from Englert.

Mike Kostrzewa, Architectural Design Panels Inc., Avenel, N.J., project fabricator, says a major reason for choosing the profile was the ability to easily remove the seam cap and replace damaged panels without uprooting the entire roof.

Veterans Memorial Home is a two-building complex located on 23 acres in Paramus, where medical and nursing care is provided for 336 residents from the northern part of the state. A $1.1 million renovation of the complex's roofs was recently completed with a grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
