The Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in Gaylord, Md., features an Airfoil Sunshade and Screenwall solution from Doralco Architectural Metal Solutions, Alsip, Ill., that matches the unique style and flair of the hotel and conference center. Doralco supplied 4,650 square feet (432m2) of screen wall and sunshades for the project. The Intertec sunshades run above the windows and provide sun control for the building. Doralco extruded a custom 9-inch (229-mm) diamond-shaped airfoil, allowing optimum sun control to be obtained. The screenwall panels are approximately 5 by 10 feet (1.5by 3 m) and use a 9-inch airfoil infill.
Gensler, Washington, D.C., was the architect, and TSI/Exterior Walls, Landover, Md., was the glazing contractor.
