Workbench Architects LLC designed The Foundry shopping center with metal building systems that feature three large mezzanine dormers. The mezzanine dormers emit daylight at the ground level and allow views of a historic residential district.
The Foundry is named for its site; it sits on a remediated site from an old foundry. It is comprised of two buildings divided into five retail suites. Exterior canopies wrap the buildings at storefront locations to provide shading and weather protection.
Prairieland Construction LLC erected the 22,000-square-foot buildings with American Buildings Co.’s gable style rigid frame metal building systems with straight columns.
For the roofs, Prairieland Construction installed American Buildings’ Standing Seam III standing seam roof system in Dark Bronze. For the walls, the company installed American Buildings’ Architectural III metal wall panels in Slate Gray.
