Crocker Architectural Sheet Metal, North Oxford, Mass., installed 6,400 square feet of Woburn, Mass.-based RHEINZINK America Inc.’s Pre-weathered graphite-grey Double Lock Standing Seam roof and wall panels on the Research and Education Greenhouse at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Boston-based architectural firm Payette designed the facility with a modern interpretation of a New England barn, which balances the historic, agrarian character of the university’s roots with the spirit of cutting-edge plant research.
The LEED-Gold certified project encompasses 16,000 square feet of new construction and 4,500 square feet of renovated space. The teaching greenhouse offers an open, flexible environment for introductory botany instruction and plant experimentation. ABC Building Products, Woburn, was the distributor.
