Completed in July 2009, Cycle North Powersports in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada, features a metal building, roof and walls from Eufaula, Ala.-based American Buildings Co. The 12,745-square-foot (1,184-m2) project features American Building’s Clear Span and Rigid Frame building systems, Standing Seam II metal roof panels and Architectural III metal wall panels in Pearl Gray.
The project meets ASHRAE standard 90.1- 2004. The large, open showrooms feature curtainwall/storefront glazing to maximize the benefits of natural daylighting. The large storage bay off the right endwall of the Honda building serves to avoid clutter in the maintenance shop for the mechanics. The building was erected throughout an unusually cold and snowy winter, and required a lot of resilience from the erection crew. Lars Lindstrom, AScT, Prince George, was the architect, and Lindstrom Construction Ltd., Prince George, was the builder.
