The Stamford Community Health Center is located on a 32,250-square-foot (2,996-m2) “tee” shaped lot in Stamford, Conn., which allows for 38 parking spaces and a loading area. The two-story brick and steel sided structure has a partial basement for storage and mechanical rooms.
The first floor houses a main entry lobby, receptionist, medical records, laboratory, two secondary waiting areas with associated nursing stations, 17exam rooms, clean and soiled work rooms, several office spaces, storage rooms, a med room and supporting bathrooms. The second floor houses a second reception area, six exam rooms, nursing station, administrative offices, large conference room, staff lunch room and supporting bathrooms.
According to Stein Troost Architects, Norwalk, Conn., the design features a pitched metal standing-seam roof and flat roofs, brick and metal siding and an inviting color scheme to mediate between residential and industrial neighbors.
Perth Amboy, N.J.-based Englert Inc. supplied 5,200 square feet
(483 m2) of its Series S2000 Snap- Lock Mill Finish for the standing-seam metal roof.Englert also supplied 3,400 square feet
(316 m2) of its Series S4000 in Teal and 1,600 square feet (149m2) of its Series E-375 Vented Soffit material.
Viking Construction, Bridgeport, Conn., was the general contractor, and Standing Roof Co., West Haven, Conn., installed the roof, wall panels and soffit.
