Riechmann Bros. LLC, a dealership in Okawville, Ill., obtained the services of Centralia, Ill.-based Unverfehrt Farm Supply to take on the construction of Riechmann Bros.’s 8,000-square-foot (743-m2) John Deere dealership. The dual-purpose building, used to showcase new farm equipment and make repairs, was built as an addition to an existing metal building owned by the dealership.
“By staying with a metal structure, we were able to deliver an excellent product and customize the jobs to [Riechmann Bros.’s] needs,” said Jim Orr, sales manager for Unverfehrt Farm Supply.
Memphis, Tenn.-based Liberty Building Systems supplied many of the metal products for the Riechmann Bros. project, including the dealership’s LibertyLoc standing-seam roof.
Orr found the standing-seam roof’s ability to expand and contract with ambient temperatures to be a major advantage over conventional roofing solutions. “The roof is on floating clips and isn’t actually attached-meaning the roof can expand as needed without distorting the wall panels,” Orr said.
LibertyLoc is a low-slope, concealed fastener standing-seam roof system, providing superior performance and weather protection. The durable, low-maintenance panels are interlocking and can be seamed in multiple stages to achieve resistance for a variety of wind uplift loading conditions. The 24-gauge panels can be applied over open framing or a solid substrate.
“The standing-seam roof is quick and easy to install and is a mechanically fastened roof, meaning it’s not just snapped together,” Orr said.
According to Orr, Unverfehrt’s client decided on standard 24-gauge Galvalume panels, which turned out to be the aesthetic look they wanted.
“The Riechmann Bros. chose the Galvalume finish, and it’s still as bright and shiny as the day we put it up-they are very pleased with the performance of the standing-seam roof,” Orr explained.
Additional Liberty products used in the Riechmann Bros. metal building include 26-gauge LibertyRib wall panels in a Light Stone FreedomCote finish and clear span framing
