Opened in December 2008, the United States Tennis Association’s new indoor tennis center is home to the U.S. Open. Indoor Courts of America was the design-build consultant for the 260,000-square-foot
(24,154-m2) facility, and Butler Manufacturing supplied 1,605 tons
(1,445 metric tons) of steel for the project. Butler also supplied MR-24 roof panels in Galvalume, in addition to Butlerib II panels in Chelsea Gray and Flat Stylewall wall panels in Pelican Gray. Butler’s Moduleze in Snow White was utilized for the soffit.
The new tennis building includes a total of 12 indoor courts-nine at ground level and three on the second floor. The building also holds the USTA Museum, fitness center, administrative offices, areas for hospitality functions and a new commissary.
