Homeowners Richard and Kay Toenberg wanted the performance benefits of metal roofing for their contemporary home in Duluth, Minn., but did not like the agricultural or commercial look associated with flat panels. The Toenberg’s chose Met-Tile for its attractive tile appearance, which also added value to the home they designed themselves.
Completed last year, K.F. Loosen Construction, Cloquet, Minn., served as the general contractor and roofing installer. Between the house and detached garage, approximately 4,700 square feet (437 m2) of Ontario, Calif.-based Met-Tile panels in 26-gauge Zincalume steel, in varying lengths up to 20 feet (6 m), were used. The panels were finished with Super 4800 SMP in Gallery Blue by Beckers Specialty Corp., Fontana, Calif.
