GFT has announced the acquisition of the assets of Iron Horse Architects, Inc. (Iron Horse), a Denver-based architecture firm specializing in aviation, transit, federal, and civic design services.
Founded in 2005, Iron Horse is known for architectural work on major public projects, including Denver International Airport, Denver Union Station, the Colorado Convention Center, and Red Rocks Amphitheater. Iron Horse says its acquisition strengthens GFT’s Buildings & Places practice by combining its design expertise and public-sector relationships with GFT’s architecture, engineering, and program management capabilities.
“Aviation and civic infrastructure are important markets for our Buildings & Places practice, and Iron Horse brings a strong track record of design excellence and longstanding client relationships in both these areas,” said Joe Tulumello, AIA, president of GFT’s Buildings & Places division. “The team’s expertise complements our existing capabilities and strengthens our ability to deliver integrated solutions for clients. We’re pleased to welcome Iron Horse to GFT and look forward to what we can accomplish together.”
“Iron Horse has built its reputation by combining thoughtful design, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the people and communities that our projects serve,” said Virginia McAllister, AIA, DBIA, CEO of Iron Horse. “Joining GFT gives our team access to broader technical resources and multidisciplinary expertise, while creating new opportunities for our employees and clients. We look forward to building on Iron Horse’s legacy and continuing to deliver high-quality work for the communities we serve.”
Iron Horse says that their clients will continue working with the trusted professionals they know, now backed by GFT’s national resources and multidisciplinary expertise.
