Hangar utilizes metal building system

The 32,685-square-foot (3,036-m2) facility at Fort Collins-Loveland Airport in Loveland, Colo., contains an aircraft hangar, business offices and support shops. Completed in May 2007, the 19,500-square foot (1,812-m2) hangar is bordered on two sides by shops and covered parking, and on the third side includes the principal entry façade and office. The entrance is faced with timber trusses, timber columns and stone. The building, which can serve and entertain up to 600 people, was also designed to accommodate banquets and parties and includes a speaker system, lighting and visual display systems. A 400-square-foot (37-m2) fire-rated glass door/window assembly located at the shared wall between the hangar and office allows for a visual connection to the hangar from the building’s main entry.

Varco Pruden Buildings Inc., Memphis, Tenn., supplied the rigid frame building system, SSR and SLR metal roof panels in Zinc Gray and Vee Rib metal wall panels, also in Zinc Gray. Tectonic Management Group Inc., Wheat Ridge, Colo., was the architect and builder for the project.
