Kingspan Insulated Panels Inc.'s Designwall 2000 insulated metal panels were specified for Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) Building 53 at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Menlo Park, Calif. The 62,000-square-foot, four-story office building is operated by Stanford University for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science.

Building 53 is an addition to the SLAC laboratory complex and was dedicated in October 2015. It consolidated SLAC on-boarding and user support functions into a centralized location. The facility houses a visitor, user, employee (VUE) center, director's office, Stanford University office, communications, security, campus auditorium, cafeteria and conferencing center. It is expected to be LEED Gold certified and qualify as a High Performance Sustainable Building.
