The design for the 11-story, mixed-use building at 1611 W. Division building in Chicago called for a rainscreen application with an open joint design. Kingspan Insulated Panels Inc. supplied 1 1/8-inch-thick BENCHMARK by Kingspan Designwall 1000 insulated metal panels (IMP) to construct the rainscreen. The single-component wall system was installed with Kingspan Insulated Panels' custom flashing products.

Ryan Stojkovich, former vice president of business development at Hill Architectural Systems, the installer for the project, and project manager, says, "A Designwall 1000 IMP system was presented to the owner as an enclosure package as a single-source solution."

The building has 99 residential units above its first floor, which is commercial space. It was constructed on a site formerly occupied by a one-story pizza restaurant built in 1983.
