EV&A Architects, Las Vegas, announced Edward Vance, FAIA, founder and CEO of EV&A Architects, was awarded the 2014 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Western Mountain Region Silver Medal.
Vance said it was humbling. “It is such an honor to be recognized by a jury of one’s peers from a group of exceptionally talented candidates from around our region. The competition was extremely stiff this year with more submissions than the chapter had ever received making this accolade even more special,” he said.
The AIA Western Mountain Region Silver Medal award is given to one architect chosen from the six western states representing AIA members in Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. The annual award is given in recognition of distinguished service to the profession of architecture and a significant body of work of lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture in the state of Nevada. It also recognizes the individual who has made significant contributions to the institute, architectural profession and the citizens of the Western Mountain Region.
The Silver Medal will be given at an award ceremony during the annual conference of the AIA Western Mountain Region in Santa Fe, N.M. Oct. 18, 2014.
