VMZINC-US has announced that the VMZINC ARCHIZINC TROPHY Awards has recognized 14 projects for their exceptional use of zinc products. With more than 115 submissions from 20 countries worldwide, the awards unite and acknowledge a broad range of cultures, building types and architectural styles using zinc, a natural, notable and recyclable material. All winning projects stood out because of their unique architectural styles, the innovative use of zinc, functionality and environmental sustainability approach.
A jury of nine international professionals working in the architecture and construction industries assessed and reviewed all projects submitted. Chaired by Nicola Leonardi, editor-in-chief of the Italian architecture magazine, The Plan, the jury awarded projects focusing on design with original innovative zinc envelopes. Members based their selections on architectural quality, integration into the site, innovation and environmental respect.
Winners were awarded with an ARCHIZINC TROPHY at an awards ceremony on June 16 in Boulogne-Billancourt, located on the outskirts of Paris. Additionally, all projects will be featured in the October 2014 special issue of Focus on Zinc, the official architecture magazine of VMZINC® which publishes and distributes 60,000 copies in 30 countries, offering a unique opportunity for winners to showcase their projects to an international audience.
